The Modern MBA is a website and podcast that shares the stories of MBAs who have made successful career transitions. We do this predominately through podcasts and blogs.  The Modern MBA, accessible from http://www.themodernmba.co.uk, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. How do we collect and process your data?

We are a Data Controller of your information. The Modern MBA legal basis for collecting and using the personal information described in this Privacy Policy depends on the Personal Information we collect and the specific context in which we collect the information. Log Files

What are they? A log file is a computer-generated data file. The file contains information about usage patterns, and activities within a server or device.

How they apply to our website?

The Modern MBA also follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services' analytics. The information collected by log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users' movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.  Although not personally identifiable, the data also provides us with your device type and geo-location information.

How long will we hold your data?

The Modern MBA will retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our policies. If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights. Why do we collect such data and how we use your data?

We collect data to inform our content decisions; optimise the user experience and send you administrative and marketing information. We also collect data to facilitate communications; share comments; request user feedback; handle legal requests and legal regulatory requirements, and enforce our terms and business conditions.

Again, we may process your data if you have given us consent to use your personal information for a specific business reason; to achieve legitimate business interests; if we are legally required to or if it is in vital interest; if we have entered into a contract with you. Log files may be passed onto third party web and mobile analytics, Google Analytics; hosting platforms Wix and Buzzsprout; podcast platforms including, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify; to Amazon Affiliates; or in the form of case studies informed by our website analytics.

Where is your information stored? And how do we keep your information safe?

Our company is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with an online platform that allows us to share our services with you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store data on secure servers behind a firewall. Their servers are located in The USA, Japan, Israel, Ireland and may use other jurisdictions as necessary for the proper delivery of our Services and/or as may be required by law.

 

Wix.com Ltd. is based in Israel, which is considered by the European Commission to be offering an adequate level of protection for the Personal Information of EU Member State residents. Wix affiliates and Third-Party Service Providers that store or process your Personal Information on Wix’s behalf are contractually committed to keep it protected and secured, in accordance with industry standards and regardless of any lesser legal requirements which may apply in their jurisdiction.
